Extrication Best Practices
Course Description:
Participants will learn and train on the most up-to-date techniques in extrication. The processes and skills taught follow best practices in any setting. Whether you are a volunteer firefighter in the country or an urban firefighter on a heavy rescue, this class will teach you how to size up and begin operations that are quick and efficient with any staffing model.
Biography:

Christopher James is in his 30th year on the Denver Fire Department. Chris James is a Denver native and has spent over 20 years working on both Heavy Rescue Companies as a Rescue Technician, Engineer, and Lieutenant, and is presently the Captain of Rescue 1. Chris has been in Special Operations on the DFD since 1998 and has many technical rescue certifications, including his paramedic certificate. During that time, James moonlighted as a paramedic at the Denver Paramedic Division for 16 years. Captain James is passionate about “fires and cutters” and teaches all facets of extrication. Chris James has presented at Into the Job, NOCO FOOLS, Tactics on Tap, and your local firehouse kitchen table. James has instructed over the years at the Mile High Firefighters Conference, High Plains Fire Conference, Arvada Auto X, Denver Chop Shop, Auto X West, and the Fire on the Plains Conference. Chris was an original company officer who opened and trained the members of Rescue 2 in 2018. Chris James is all about the “Job,” and when he is not instructing or preaching, he is a student who attends classes and conferences all across the USA!
