Engine Company Basics

Course Description:
This 2-day class focuses on aggressive engine company operations in real-world fireground conditions. Designed for firefighters who want to sharpen their hose line skills while reinforcing the fundamentals, the course emphasizes speed, efficiency, and discipline while operating in zero visibility and high-stress environments.
Students will train on proven engine company tactics including clean hose stretches, line advancement, effective water application, and coordination with search crews during rescue operations. Scenarios place firefighters in tight spaces, cluttered environments, and realistic residential layouts while requiring crews to maintain discipline, communication, and situational awareness.
This class focuses on doing the job the way engine companies do it—getting water in the right place quickly while supporting search and rescue without complicating the fireground. Expect minimal classroom time and maximum time operating in smoke-filled environments solving real fireground problems.
